The first phase of Yang Shan Deep-Water Port is a milestone that turns Shanghai Port from the “era of Yangtze River” to the “era of East China Sea”.In the future, Shanghai will construct complete network of railway, express highway and waterway. Shanghai will have 12 express highway connecting major cities of China. Application of Coastal railway, high-speed railway between Shanghai and Beijing and the magnetic levitation railway from Shanghai to Hangzhou have been submitted. The designed speed of Beijing-Shanghai railway is 350 km per hour. When it is completed, it only takes only 5 hours from Beijing to Shanghai. The Shanghai-Hangzhou Transrapid will shorten time down to 25 minutes.
